We use prefolds and Bummis SWW covers with pins. Love them, though my covers are getting pretty worn out after 3 babies. I have been thinking about retrofitting them into pocket diapers, because one of my twins wakes up at about 5am soaking wet and can't go back to sleep. I have spent about $500 total to diaper my 3 girls, and won't have to buy anything else. :)

Oops, I also wanted to say that in my experience, they don't leak at all! (There's wicking, but that's only if they are sopping wet.) I have never had a poop get on clothes either, no matter how messy.

As the ultimate test, a friend was at my house with her 2yo son. She ended up staying late and didn't have a nappy for him. So I put him in one of my prefolds and covers. He fell asleep in the car, and she put him right to bed. She called the next morning to say that it was the first time EVER that he hadn't leaked out all over the bed, even with "premium" nighttime diapers. She said that every single morning he was soaked and she had to change his crib sheets, but not with the cloth diaper.

That was a few years ago and I still beam with pride inside at the memory! :)

I agree. I have found that cloth diapers are way better at keeping the poop in the diaper! A few times I've had to use a disposable in an emergency and the next thing I knew there was an explosion up the back and the clothes were stained! The elastic on the cloth covers/diapers is way better for this.

At least with cloth you can add layers at night for heavy wetters or use a hemp insert for more absorbancy. Can't do that with disposables!

At night I love using the Bigger Weeds insert, which can be used in a pocket diaper or as a prefold w/a cover. It is super absorbent and works great for my 8mo heavy wetter. It is made with hemp which works great and dries faster then the microfiber.

I recently invested in the EGO Baby carrier and love it...I have totally ditched the stroller now! What other carriers have you guys found to be comfortable and functional?

I'm a wrap-girl. I have 3 Storches (Inka, Natural and Leo Marine) and a Didy hemp indio. I also have a ringsling, pouch and 2 MTs (a Kozy and Babyhawk). MTs are quick and easy (used one today in the store) but wraps are THE best for comfort. :) In my opinion of course. ;)

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
