You can get information on healing cavities with nutrition on the Alternative Kids Teeth yahoogroup. They are very AP and pro-extended breastfeeding. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/alternativekidsteeth/

Basically, primary tooth caries have to do with inutero nutrient deficiencies in mom, often exacerbated by mom's gut issues and genetic detoxification issues.

These can be address holistically.

We have had negative experiences with Pediatric Dentists and Oral sugeons, not about breastfeeding but how they treat the children. I can not remember the name of the one- it was a man- I would have to ask my husband- he took our son- I had a newborn at the time.

I have liked University Pediatric Dentists for their respect for my children and my son's dental fears (caused by dentists). but my children were old enough that we did not discuss breastfeeding- even if my oldest was still nursing when we went:)

I need to check out that yahoo group that you mention Pat.
My son had 8 catevities filled at the age of 4- but had no dental pain and I still shake my head and wonder if we needed to fill all of them.

If suregery or anethesia is involved, breastmilk is a clear fluid.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
