Hello Pat!
Well... we have a home in Kings Mt but were renting it out. We're deciding between renting something in Charlotte or possibly buying if we fall in love with something.
Im apprehensive, because all i know of NC is that area- gaston county too.
I really want to find a balance. Somewhere I fell like I will fit in and I admit I do feel more comfortable with a lot of people and "business" around!
THOUGH THAT MAY CHANGE...
but that is why I started with something like this:)
likeminded people!

Hi Pat. We're in the University area. My daughter Jordan is 11 (my profile photo is a baby pic of her, one of my favorites).

What's the MNO? (I'll see if I can find some info on the site...) If it's close, we might make it. But today is our home school park day so it depends on how pooped we are and whether or not we'd have to drive in rush hour traffic. :o)

Thanks for the invite Pat!

Oh, by the way, we're members of the ENRICH home school group.

Thanks for your vote of buying confidence. I agree with you that it will all work out. My stand is that maybe my family should wait until the dust settles and then enter the housing market. That said, I would prefer not to wait as I really do like the house we are contracted to purchase.
We are buying in Mountain Brook (Carmel & Colony). Do you live near us? It's a cool house. This is my first time living in suburbia since I was kid. I'm like really excited about learning to garden, reusing water, solar and living more mindfully. Do you have any experience with any of that living green stuff? We recently went to a home show at the merchandise mart and picked up some info I think they had like two or three booths. We were hoping to hit SOKHOP but then Elizabeth was all goey sick and Antonia had a birthday and ballet. Have you gotten any feedback from friends that attended - I'm just curious if people may be able to bring info to the next earthfare meeting so that we can support any participating local companies.

Tell me about the Mint Hill thing. I can't find it on the events page. We would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a play date and make some friends. I can't do the melting pot night. My husband has a work event.

You have been so wonderfully in keeping in touch with me. I can't thank you enough! Good night.

Hey Pat, Good to hear from you. This online stuff is very cool. I'm such a dork when it comes to online groups - I have zero experience. So, we are currently renting in South Park. We are scheduled to close on a house next week but am getting cold feet with the new Wachovia news! I have two little girls - Antonia will be 4 in Nov. and Elizabeth will be 2 in Nov.both would find your sweet boy very entertaining! Did you go to sokhop over the weekend?

Hi, Pat. Thanks for reaching out to all of us. I am in Indian Trail right off of Wesley Chapel Stouts. We moved here in January with my husband's job transfer. I was a member of HMN in NJ and so enjoyed the online discussions! I look forward to meeting you.

Hi Pat!

Well after we went through all the traditions doctors...we did all you mentioned in your note....no relief from her migraines. Turns out she had toxins and pesticides in her blood. We switched all our cleaning and personal care products to safer, healthier ones. Once I discovered that the normal ones we were using were toxic - That was a interesting and insightful journey.

Yes, I will add the Mint Hill Park Day to the calendar. It looks like a lot of our holistic members have little ones so they would be free at that time. Many homeschoolers that come to park day have younger siblings so it would be a good match.

I think the purpose of Friends is for when the community gets very large you can check in on your friends easily without having to search though the member list. This function is probably more useful on a national social network. You can also send a message to just your "Friends" if you had a personal announcement to share with them.

I agree with it being user friendly. I had a conscious parenting website for like the past 3 years but did so little with it because a lot was involved with creating it- instruction from hubby- and it intimidated me- so it stalled out for so long. now I have moved that to a ning site as well!
supervising is not my thing either- I am focusing on info first and will add forums later to my site- but do hope to have it "mostly finished" within a month
hope to see you soon- we plan to come to 521 for 1st friday Pokemon- it is so cool what you started there!

Hey Pat,
I'm not sure how you go about getting the widget? I have a habit f fooling around with everything and then when it works I don't remember how I came up with it. I did a web search on widgets and a sight for free ones came up. I looked around on it for a bit and found the vitamin one. there was a box in the corner with symbols (not sure what it said). I found the symbol for Ning and that gave me the link? to copy and paste back on my screen. This is the best I can do. I'm better at showing then explaining.

Sorry it wasn't more helpful.
Jenn

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
