We thought we'd head to Ilios Noche on Providence Rd, about 7:30pm tomorrow for the MNO. Any chance you can join us?

Ronda Peerbolt suggested eeZ as a restaurant option up that way. She said they have reasonable prices and some good coupons. http://temp.eezfusion.com/

I loved that ENRICH is having a roundtable discussion MNO. The topic of discussion is frugal living. Everyone is going to bring tips on shopping, cooking/meals, homeschooling, budgeting, etc.

What if we plan something similar for the holistic group? We could focus on frugal, healthy living, green tips. I could probably juggle a Tuesday or Thursday evening for Scott to watch Erik. If it started at 7:30pm. But, go for it and host! if you want to. Or select some place you know.

What are your thoughts?

We plan to homeschool and would like to know as much about the process as possible.

I would love to have a meet up. Just don't want to go to any fast food joints, even if they have big playgrounds! That seems to be all I can find as far as playdates go!

We stopped taking all pharmies years ago, including tylenol!

Looking forward to meeting. We are off of Old Plank Rd not far from the Brookshire/Mt Holly - Huntersville intersection.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I'm 34 (again), counting backwards from 40, lol. ;-)

You are a travelin' gal! You've been there 6+ times since we met a year ago; and we haven't been back in almost 2 years! I need to just get in the car and drive down there! How is the weather? Erik wants to go to the rocket launch again.

We got another cat. LOL

Scott and Erik are at the NASCAR race tonight. (or some race thing)

Thanks. I've made my own yogurt a lot. I'll have to try straining it next time and see if it turns out like a spread.

This is the book I've used. I got my supplies from her also. http://tinyurl.com/46zdoo Do you have a link for the yogurt cheese? I googled and found one from Alton Brown but it was basically just draining the yogurt overnight. Was there more to the one you have?

Of course, I hadn't had dairy in over 2 weeks until last night's fondue. It kind so sat like lead on my belly - LOL! It was a fun night though.

So glad the granola worked out. We love it! Motz. is next on my list too. I've made cheddar but motz. is supposed to be easier.

Hello! Thanks for the welcome:)
your kids are so cute, they remind me of a family I knew in LA.
I've been reading a lot about homeschooling lately since Im looking for preschools in NC...
though I dont think it's a responsibility I personally am ready to take on now- I'm also looking at montessori and magnet schools.
Did you look for any before you made the decision to homeschool? If so did any really catch your eye?

this is weird. i don't know if i'm posting on your wall or my wall or what. or should i be doing the inbox thing. i feel like i'm leaving disjointed bits of conversation all over the place! i think i will click around and drop crumbs of sentences all over the place and see what happens...

You know what? I know a little girl who who loved, loved animals, and she came over a lot and my daughter would say, "She just wants to play with our pets but not me!" And the girl you could tell was kind of timid about having a bird on her, or petting the guinea pig. We'd take her to our horses, and she loved going, but she was very anxious about actually riding the horse. I think she only got on because she felt the pressure that all the other kids were getting on. So I started taking her to the barn and having her help chore, and groom the horses, which she loved doing, and then other kids would ride, and then I made it be o.k. for her to not ride if she didn't want to. This was working very well, and she was getting more comfortable about being on the horse, and then we moved away. She was just a cautious person who liked to observe things before jumping into the fray, and that is just fine. I bet she will have a houseful of animals someday, or be a vet or something! Maybe your girl is like that too?

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
