Thanks for the welcome. I didn't know there was a North Charlotte group. I have two children ages 22 and 20. Both in College. I was informed by a friend of mine about this group. Not sure what to expect.
Glad to hear about your homebirths. I had a natural birth with my 6month old and it went great, although it was in a hospital. I am interested in homebirthing with my next baby (sometime in the next 2 years I hope!) Did you use a doula?
Hey Cara, do you want to add the Mint Hill park day to the "Events" calendar? I know that folks with young kids are welcome. And it might be an easy playdate for folks to meet each other.
I thought about posting some of the open E&D activities here too...what are your thoughts?
Can you tell me how this "Friends" thing works? What does it mean? I have a bunch of folks in my "friends" and I don't know most of them more than they are new members here. And then there are some of you all that I don't have as "friends". LOL
Does the designation have some utility? Or is it just "friendly"? LOL
LOL I posted to your original comment to me. Only it posted to myself. I'm not sure what I did wrong. LOL
I love your "My Page". I'm not computer savvy enough to do anything more than a photo. And Anna had to talk me through that, step by step... four times today! I love this site, it is so easy. I wish we had smilies. Any idea how we could get those?? I have NO idea.
The website looks great! I am very excited! I connected with Leigh on the York County Mommies site and I am excited to see she is here too. I saw there is also someone else from Fort Mill I will have to connect with as well. Great entry about recycling on the blog. Thanks again for your work on the new group.
Ok, as soon as I figure out where that "make Cara an administrator" button is, lol, you'll be one. I just saw it on the member page when I approved Jake. But, can't locate it now!
I'll hunt a bit more. But, we are supposed to be at my sisters in 15 minutes and I'm typing, not getting dressed and in the car!
"Hi Megan,

"Interesting. I do find info about Arnica as a poison ivy relief alternative. I hadn't heard of that. Homeopathic Apis helps for swelling, hives also.

"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
"We had two recent discussions about poison ivy relief on the yahoogroup with many options to consider. Plantain, witch hazel and Epsom salt baths seem to offer significant relief.

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch? I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
