I'll host a gathering at my house sometime in October. We've had so much fun doing that in the past. And the kids are welcome to join us. It'll be on a Saturday afternoon. Hope you'll be able to join us then. I don't have the particulars settled. But, will post it next week sometime.

I love this idea for moms only. But, with little people dipping and dripping, it sounds a bit chaotic. LOL
Do folks want to do a playdate with kids on the last Saturday in October w/wo lunch? Or maybe we could do the MNO for December as another fondue party? I'm happy to host either or both.
Oh my gosh, I read Pat's post and just envisioned Shannon dripping with chocolate from head to toe! LOL
If you are willing to host a playdate in October on a Saturday, I think it would be great if we publicized it as a family event and encouraged the Dads to come. My husband really needs to make some friends! Its harder for men when you move to a new place, since they aren't out with the kids during the week, meeting other families. His only friends are at work and now he works at home.
OK, I am trying this out for the first time, lets see how it works! Thanks so much for offering to host a family gathering. We are already committed that day (Oct 25) to go to the Balloonfest in Mooresville, sorry we'll miss it, especially because I would love for my husband to be able to come too and meet other dads. Maybe we can do another in November?

Ok, I just typed a long note and the Internet gremlins ate it!
Short version. Balloonfest is F,S,S at 4:30 for mass launch. So, we'll probably go on Sun. Thanks for the tip. http://www.carolinaballoonfest.com/
My Nov. calendar is busy with a similar homeschool family gathering at our house on a Saturday. (Maybe/wannabe homeschoolers welcome too. ;-))
I wondered about a trip to "Dish It Out", the pottery painting studio? Maybe before the holidays? http://www.dishitout.net/default.asp They have group discounts. Could be with or without kids.
Also, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens are magical during the holidays. Maybe we could do a group trip?
Other suggestions, outings or ideas for mom's gatherings?

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch? I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
