Exploring Holistic Alternatives

Families practicing: Alternative & Natural Health; Attachment and Mindful Parent

The homeschool community has the 521-Rec Center space available starting in September, each Friday, 11am-2pm. (in south Charlotte off I485 and Johnston Rd). We have planned activities for family fun the first three Fridays. [There is a homeschool discount for bowling on the fourth Fridays. So, many families bowl, instead of going to the 521- Rec Center.] We wanted to invite families to come play out at 521- Rec Center and meet other homeschool families during the month, or gather for a Play Day on the fourth Fridays with other holistic families. (note, all homeschool families are NOT holistic leaning)

There is so much to do inside and outside at 521-Rec Center! There are acres and acres of shade trees, a fishing lake, picnic tables, a gymnasium, three class rooms; a lounge with sofas and 40-inch plasma, flat-screen TV; tables, chairs, a game room with (brand new!) pool table, fooz ball, air hockey, ping pong and TV; sport equipment, balls, basketball goals, baseball field, 1/2 football field with goals, parking, etc. etc. It is incredible!!

All FREE!

All families welcome!

There will be a "BOYS FUN CLUB" (11-12:30pm), and "GIRLS FUN CLUB" (12:30-2pm) on first and third Fridays. Generally, these are geared for 5-10+ year olds.

ORGANIZED GYM ACTIVITIES. Second Fridays 11am-12:30, or 12:30-2pm. Each time slot and space is available. Host's preference; select inside/outside.

This could be organized or structured games, sports, contests, or races, for 30+ minutes of fun. There is plenty of available equipment in the gym equipment room. What does your child love? Kickball, soccer, T-ball, flag football...

We want to invite you all out to join us any Friday. And especially hope the holistic mamas will come out on the Fourth Fridays to play together at 521- Rec Center! These are great for those with younger children still not sure what you want to do but not heading off to preschool. :)
The holistic mamas are coming to play on the fourth Fridays, 11am-2pm at 521-Rec Center, starting September 25th.

I hope that a bunch of moms come. Erik is saying he wants to stay home today. We've had several outings this week and he is missing dh, who is out of town all week. So, it sounds like we are going to be homebodies today. The whole recreational property is amazing and fun!

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
