Pediatric Neurologist?

I remember someone posted about this before but was there ever an official recommendation?

Ds#1 who is almost 8 yrs old has some things going on. As he's getting older they're becoming more apparent. I'm not sure if it's Asperbergers or just sensory issues or what. I've heard that this is the best route to go for a good diagnosis. We're not big on anyone who would be pushy for med.s.

Hi, Kristen-
It was me who posted looking for a pediatric neurologist; but after doing some research and talking with one of the teachers at my daughters school (she has worked with a lot of kids w/ADD/ADHD, Autisim etc.) she says that a lot of parents had good results w/ a pediatric neurophyscologist (sp?). According to this teacher, the Dr. will do a "play" therapy session to access what type of learner your child is and can also diagnose neurological abnormalaties in a child. The thing I liked most about going this route is that it is not invasive testing and also your child will not feel like something is wrong with him/her by all these invasive questions. I'm waiting to hear back from this teacher beacuse she could not remember the Dr.'s name but I will be sure to share my info w/you.
