"We had our first child in Southern California. More breastfeeding friendly there, but sometimes not. I nursed her in public, did not cover her head, but sometimes people were a little shocked. She was very tall compared to me. We lived in a beach…"
"I believe that we need to nurse in public so it can become acceptable. I remember when my son was less than a year and I was at the swimming pool. A mom asked me if I was nursing and she then wispered to me, "I am still nursing my daughter who…"
"It was important to me to be discreet and modest. At the same time, it was also important to me to go ahead and do it as well. My oldest nursed for a long time (it is was one detail that I am not allowed to divulge) and she was a child that grew…"
"We just nursed. I don't know that discrete or public was a concern. We found some place comfortable and folks would see him cuddling with legs sticking out every which way. LOL But, I never used a blanket or any cover, other than loose shirts…"
"It has been many years since I weaned my youngest. She was nearly 5 at the time. When she was a toddler, I would nurse her discretely in public. Nursing modestly was very important to me. As she left her toddler years behind, we would only nurse in…"
Seeing life as a whole continuous journey, that begins and ends with the earth.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
For about 8 years. My husband and I have always been environmentally concieous. When we started our family, we knew that we needed to be more proactive in going green and being respectful of the earth and protecting its' resources.
a little about me
I am a mother of 2 wonderful sons: Carson 4 years and Caiden 7 months. My husband Carlos and I try to find a holistic harmony and balance in all areas of our lifestyle. As we raise our children we want to give them positive experiences to help educate them about the importance of recycling and using products that are evironmentally friendly. We buy and use organic food and other items as much as possible.
What professional or business affiliations do you offer?
I am a Realtor with the Allen Tate Company and I love helping people find homes that are "green". I also use my profession to educate people about the benefits of real estate investing.
It's pretty far from my house, I don't think I'm going to go. I have to go to Ft. Mill on Tuesday (raw milk p/u) and Lincoln County on Friday...so (after the long explanation) I have to watch my gas...especially since I can't find any.
Hi Melanie, I haven't put much thought into if I will use cloth diapers yet. I did register for some... I don't know if could convince my husband to go with that idea. He is the one that will most likely stay home to care for the baby once he arrives. Isn't this a great site? Welcome!

I've dealt with a few different illnesses. Maybe you can call me tomorrow and let me know what's going on. Or maybe send your number. Pat and I are going to a conference but will have some time on the drive there and later in…"
Hope you are doing well, its been a while since I've come to the group MNOs but hope to attend soon and see folks again. This is kind of a random favor/question, but I seem to have a sick chicken and wondered if you had any expertise…"
"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
