We had so much fun at The Melting Pot, we wanted to do fondue again! We're hosting a fondue gathering for moms.

Everyone can either bring a crock or fondue of something to dip, or bring dipping fruits, vegetables, bread, etc. Post below what you'd like to bring, just a general 'cheese dip', bread, etc.

Also, send me an email if you need our address and directions.

Darn! I have to go to a horse thing. Sorry to miss! cheers, Francie
I'm going to bring either pound cake or angel food and rice crispie treats for any chocolate there!
Look forward to seeing everyone.
Does anyone have a "non-stick" crock pot?

One of the new members used to work at The Melting Pot and has offered to make their special cheese dipping recipe for us!! Yipee! We need three non-stick crock pots!

Pat
I didn't know there was such a thing, I have a regular small crock ceramic inside.

I found I have a recipe for caramel fondue for apples. Yum.
Wow!

My crock is ceramic also.

Pat
Yum!!!

My crock pot is ceramic. I think Pat must mean a non stick fondue pot? I have seen those. Why does it need to be non stick? I think my crock pot is too big for fondue. Pat, I can run by Consignment 1st and get one of those if you need me to.

Anna
I have a small crock pot and a fondue pot (also ceramic) I will ring both just in case we need them.
The Melting Pot mama said "non-stick crock", or non-stick double boiler fondue, for the cheese dipping recipes.

Pat
Ladies, we've only had firm availability from Jenn and me for Saturday. What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure we can do much fondue, without a crowd?

Pat
Hi,

We were thinking of coming. If someone is making cheese fondue, I was going to bring vegetables for dipping. We're on a no-carb, no sugar diet, so no bread for us. It would be myself, my husband, and possibly my 12 year old daughter. Would there be any children? I do have a small crockpot with a ceramic insert someone could borrow. (live in Ft Mill). It takes a while to heat up.

Maybe you could grease the inside of the crockpot with spectrum shortening. I did that when I made a pudding in the crockpot. I would just make do, rather than buy a new nonstick one.

Oh, I didn't see that it was just for Mom's. I'm a bit bummed. We like potlucks and I don't know if I feel like driving out to Weddington by myself.
Ladies, it sounds like a family, weekend gathering with potluck works better for more folks. Do we want to plan one of those to celebrate the New Year? Fondue seems too messy to do with little people. But, we could plan another potluck. We could host Saturday, Jan. 3rd or 10th.

We didn't do the MNO this past week, do folks have an evening available to do that in December, or is it too busy this time of year?

And do we want to meet on the third Wednesday in December at EarthFare? We don't have a planned presentation, but could make it a holiday gathering? Perhaps, bring a dessert or wine to share? Or we could host a dessert and wine gathering for that evening at our house?? With/without kids??

Other suggestions?

We'll cancel the fondue for this Saturday since so few folks are available on the 6th.

What are your thoughts?!

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
