I like to sew and just recently started quilting.
I like to sew too. My last sewing project was making pads and I LOVE them!!! At different times we've been into ATCs, making jewelry, making gem trees, felting and tons of other things too - LOL!

Great fun for kids and adults. There are so many cool things to do with them. I think kids love the 'tiny' canvas. Well, I like that too.

Looking above, I realize I left out knitting. I love to knit too but only do it in the winter. I'm hoping to make these neat slippers I found this fall.

This is a great magazine if you like Waldorf type crafts:

Anna, were the pads hard to make? What did you use? I would love some info on those.
No, they are easy and forgiving. I got a pattern off of ebay. The woman actually lives in the Shelby area. I used french terry inside and Moda flannel outside. I gave some to a friend who has been using pads for years and she says they are the best she's ever used. They were my first but I LOVE them. I used to use Sea Pearls. They are nice too but I switched for various reasons. I wouldn't go back now, after these pads. They are super absorbent but really thin. Cost was behind my decision to make my own but now I know that these are just better pads too.

We LOVE crafts! I usually plan a few momsNkids craft parties every year. There isn't one thing I always do, just whatever. Sewing is a means to an end for me. Many of my crafts are. We have lots of stuff - currently boxed up, of course! :-( Painting, drawing, pastels, clay, card-making, paper making and paper crafts, tye-die, screenprinting, multimedia sculpture, jewelry, baskets, glass fusion, mosaic. I'd love to weld some metal someday! My kids have crocheted and knitted, and sometimes I think I'd like to knit, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Horsehair bracelets (not me). I don't think I could do something that takes a really long time to complete (at this time in my life, anyway!). I haven't done any felting, and I think we'll try that someday.
I like to sew-though I wish I knew more and was better at it. The last thing I made was all of my kitchen/laundry room curtains.

I love to cross-stitch. I love to cook and make my own pasta-not sure if that counts as a craft. I am interested in getting into soap making.
I've been thinking about making pasta. Do you have a pasta roller to make it thin or do you just keep rolling it and rolling it? I've been thinking about asking for one for Christmas. Since I also want to start making our crackers, I was thinking I could use the roller to make that dough really thin as it is not easy to do with a rolling pin when you lack patience like I do.
How many layers of terry did you use?
4 - two sets of two with loops facing out, so they draw liquid to the center.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
