I am running low on Coconut Oil and there is an awesomely priced supplier online. However, it looks like there is flat shipping, so I'd love to order with some others and be able to split that up.

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil comes out to about $0.25/oz! (Whereas it is closer to $0.40 at vitacost or iherb). It comes in a 7 pound bottle which is about 7/8 gallon. ($27.30 for 7lbs). They also have every other sort of oil you could want, including OG EVOO etc.

This is the website: http://www.soaperschoice.com/cgi-soaperschoice/Web_store/web_store....

Even though they are selling to soap makers, the oil is food grade and completely edible.

I live in South Charlotte near the arboretum. I'd like to arrange pick-up or meet-ups in that area unless you live someplace that I happen to run errands to (which is actually all over the place...)

Oh yeah, and the oil comes in a big jug with pour spout... so we will have to figure out a clever way to liquefy the oil so it can be transferred to more user friendly containers!

There is a nice review of the company here: http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/2009/08/13/a-good-deal-on-top-fats/#
Who is cooking with coconut oil? What things have you found that cannot be cooked in it.... such as pancakes!!! arrrrgh! Tell me, before I ruin something else...
I cook pancakes in CO. What happened to yours? I cook almost everything in it/with it. Anywhere that "oil" is called for, I use CO... or butter, and occasionally lard.
They did not cook properly - they did not get tan AT ALL. It was like I cooked in a sunscreen or heat protectant. And the texture was weird, sorta uncooked, but of course if it didn't cook it would still be liquid.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
