Our daughter is 19 months and many of our friends have already started scoping out preschool for there kids. We can not afford Montessori, but do not want her to attend a preschool at a church.Any ideas???See More

- I would say all my life. I grew up in girlscouts where I learned about the great out doors. We lived in the beautiful state of Washington. My Dad taught me to not waste and recycle. :)

We found a "progressive" preschool, which essentially believes in letting the children play and that they will learn from playing with minimal intervention. There is the Open Door Preschool in Cotswold, and the Piedmont Progressive Preschool in the University area. They are currently planning on opening another school that will also serve kindergarten, and then add a grade each year. - Welcome! I totally didn't know there was an attachment parenting group here in Charlotte!?!?! My friend, Alecia Ibach was an API leader until her third (of four children). :-) Plus, she is busy with a small "farm" now.
What part of Charlotte do you live in? We are in south Charlotte and have one son, age 7.

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch? I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
