I have two children and they were homebirths. My son I caught myself. I was only in active labor about an hour and a half. My midwife was about 10 minutes too late. I highly recommend staying home!
Sometimes I think it is hard to make that decision with a first baby. But I am so glad I did with my first.
I am also a doula and have been to many births in the Charlotte area hospitals and to homebirths. I will be happy to speak to you and anwser any questions I can.
