Trying to create wellnes and prevent illness by seeing the body and mind as a whole. Not waiting for disease to "treat" yourself or your family.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
For about 3 years.
a little about me
I recently moved to Charlotte from Florida. My husbance and I are expecting our first child in January. I want to try to raise her in a holistic manner.
What professional or business affiliations do you offer?
I work from home so I so not really have any to speak of at the moment.

I just started researching vaccines while pregnant. Ultimately, we decided to just postpone until our son was age 2, when his immune system was stronger and more fully developed, before doing vaccines. Well, at that point, we decided not to start any. LOL
I had a lot more time to research that way too. I've posted a ton of links in the Vaccine forum.
I'm glad you have some family here. We were the oldest in our Bradley class, Bradley is what started me down this path of holistic living, actually.
We were living near South Park, so I went to a different La Leche group. Several of my friends go to the Ballantyne one.
OMG! What an adjustment for you all, coming from a mama who was married for 18 years before our first and only child was born. At seven years in, my husband is still adjusting. Wow! I have a couple of friends who've made a similar leap into the great unknown after many years as a couple, lol. I love mothering more than anything I've EVER done. It is also the *hardest* thing I've EVER done!!
Moving while very pregnant is its own Olympic Event! Have you all lived here long? Do you have a support system, family here, friends to visit and help with moving/baby/meals after birth?? I attended La Leche for five months before our son was born to actually meet and see how to breastfeed. I'm so glad I had that mother to mother support. You might want to get connected with the local LLL asap. Those mamas became my support system with this new adventure into motherhood.
We see Dr. Dino Kanelos. He has an office in Ballantyne and Weddington. He is respectful of parent's choices about selective, delayed, or refusal of vaccinations. There aren't many who don't PUSH you to fully vaccinate exactly according to their schedule. Vaccination would be where I'd spend my time researching, now. It is hard to do after the baby, due to sleep needs. Kanelos is pro-vaccination, but he'll discuss each one with you. He is a family practice physician, MD. Pediatricians often feel they must follow the AAP recommendations about vaccination without discussion.
Congratulations on joining motherhood! I love being our son's mom. :-D
That's great. A great percentage of our members are from that area. Meetings will be convenient for you since they are at the Earth Fare on Johnston Rd.
