Terry Hess replied to Pat's discussion Bee stings
"Pat, an easy thing to do is keep a bottle of Melaleuca Oil in your Kitchen cabinet and medicine cabinet. After yanking the stinger out, apply a drop on the sting (or bite) - you don't have to touch it the area - and the Melaleuca Oil takes the…"

A more natural, healthier, safer way to live
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
5 years
a little about me
I discovered holistic living as a result of a need. My daughter had a migraine headache that lasted for 1 1/2 years. We found more natural alternatives for our home and body after trying traditional means didn't work for her. She has been migraine free for nearly 4 1/2 years.

How did you diagnosis toxins and pesticides in her blood? Seems like a silly question, but what type of testing did they do for unknown chemical exposures? Someone on another list that I'm on seems to have perhaps, been exposed to a pesticide (like roach killer or some caustic cleaning product) at a camping cabin. And everyone tha were there are severely ill for going on two weeks now. I wasn't aware of a broad chemical exposure blood test. They are trying to treat it naturally and homeopathically. But, the mama is exhausted and sick herself, at this point.

Any suggested testing that you all did, or detox suggestions, they are struggling.

We have a lady that helps up to clean and she uses that Tilex and it makes me feel ill. But, she insists that nothing attacks the mold and mildew around the tub and tile adequately. We are on homeopathy and get antidoted each time she comes. She doesn't come regularly, so we just redose.

Are there any books or web sites that you'd recommend to learn more?

Thanks, not meaning to pry or pick your brain. Just want to learn!

Oh, you may want to post to the "Mindful Home Management" subforum with suggested cleaning and personal care products.

Wow! What a journey! I'm curious, if fragrances and artificial ingredients in foods were variables? Or if you all had to do enzymes, GF/CF, etc for leaky gut? Not meaning to pry. I had daily headaches for years before eliminating those things and dairy. Now we do raw dairy and homeopathy, and I feel terrific.

Glad you are here!

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
