It's pretty far from my house, I don't think I'm going to go. I have to go to Ft. Mill on Tuesday (raw milk p/u) and Lincoln County on Friday...so (after the long explanation) I have to watch my gas...especially since I can't find any.
Hi Melanie, I haven't put much thought into if I will use cloth diapers yet. I did register for some... I don't know if could convince my husband to go with that idea. He is the one that will most likely stay home to care for the baby once he arrives. Isn't this a great site? Welcome!
I have a mix, mostly prefolds with bummis wraps...i have 12 bleached and 12 unbleached...i like the unbleached much better. A few Aio's when we do finally get out of the house..i havent left the house yet..still a bit nervous. I also have a orgainc caboose cotton cover that doesnt fit any more...babe was 10+2 at birth...i may need to get some more prefolds soon. He's getting so big so fast.

So far most of the people I have connected with have been in South Charlotte. I hope to start some group events soon. I hope you can find a sitter for Wed. I look forward to meting you.
my kids are 14 boy, 8 girl ,3 1/2 boy, new born boy. I have not met to many mamas who are like me..when i mention that we hb, cd, non vax, no cic..i get the craziest looks. Its amazing how main stream everyone in the charl-metro area is. Great to meet a like minded mama.
Well, with my first homebirth I was lucky because my midwife's apprentice was both my hypnobirth instructor and also a trained doula. So I had her services without actually hiring her.
With my 3rd and 4th homebirth I just had the midwife and her apprentice (different one). I'm a pretty low maintenance laborer though, I just want quiet. Towards the end I did have my husband stay near or in the birthing tub so he could pour water down my back during the contractions. That technique really worked for me since I could concentrate on the warm water running down my back.

"Interesting. I do find info about Arnica as a poison ivy relief alternative. I hadn't heard of that. Homeopathic Apis helps for swelling, hives also.
Pat"
"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
"We had two recent discussions about poison ivy relief on the yahoogroup with many options to consider. Plantain, witch hazel and Epsom salt baths seem to offer significant relief.
