I'm great, Laura! Hope all is well on your end too! Yes, still teaching yoga and I'm gearing up to homeschool starting this summer! I'm SO excited to share more time with my girls!! :) What about you? What's your plans for schooling? I tried to contact Jennifer to see if I could her to come over to my house and help me set up a montessori classroom and help get me started but her number is no longer in service and so I e-mailed her but no response from her? Do you happen to know if she's still at the same place and running Mapleseed?
I will look forward to meeting you Sunday, unless you are going to Pat's Thursday - I am planning to come with my youngest, Zachary, who is 7. Let me tell you though, that in my two hours on Sunday (the library closes at 5pm), I will start out with the legal stuff and go from there depending on who comes and what their needs are. It is very informal. I think you will find it helpful to meet other homeschoolers and hear the discussion even if it doesn't end up touching on everything. I will tell you where to go for a great overview of the various types of homeschooling. That is the basic homeschooling seminar at Growing Scholars. Those are done by Misty Spinelli and she does an excellent job. She and I have different strengths you might say. You do have to call ahead to sign up as the space is limited but it is also free. www.growingscholars.com
Let me tell you that most husbands start off very wary of the idea of homeschooling. I happened to accidentally find out about it when my oldest was 3 months old (over 20 years ago). So I had 4 or 5 years to talk my dh into it and it took most of that! haha And then he said just to 3rd or 4th grade. But by the time we got there, we never looked back. And a good thing too, with all of our moves.
I look forward to meeting you sometime soon. I will be out of town this Friday- but maybe another Friday or at an event! I am not sure yet if I am going to the event this Sat. at Pat's house. I have a 6 y/o daughter.
We homeschool and my 2.5 yr old goes to St. Luke's playschool 2 mornings a week. That gives me time to work with the older kids (8 & 6) without interruptions.
I'm glad the covers were large, everything fits him great already! Its funny, I really needed to get more covers and a few more diapers since he grew out of his prefolds..but I kept putting it off. I guess I somehow knew that you would have those imse vimse available today! :)
We'll see how we like these covers and how our other covers are working for us. At some point we might need more. How much are the covers new?
I do use Dr. Bronner's on my wool covers that I hand wash in the sink, mainly because it's in my soap foam dispenser already! It works fine for those and doesn't harm them at all. I have also used it for spot cleaning on covers that I'd like to reuse without sending them through an entire wash cycle. I haven't tried using it in my washing machine. I have an HE washer and I'm wary about using anything besides the HE detergent in there. I use the Tide Free.
"Hi Megan,
I've dealt with a few different illnesses. Maybe you can call me tomorrow and let me know what's going on. Or maybe send your number. Pat and I are going to a conference but will have some time on the drive there and later in…"

"Interesting. I do find info about Arnica as a poison ivy relief alternative. I hadn't heard of that. Homeopathic Apis helps for swelling, hives also.

"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
"We had two recent discussions about poison ivy relief on the yahoogroup with many options to consider. Plantain, witch hazel and Epsom salt baths seem to offer significant relief.
Are you already a member there?…"
