Thanks for the feedback, Brooke. It appeared that CMC-Pineville offered the best options on the surface when we chose it. We are with the Piedmont OB/GYN group and our primary CNM is Sage Brook. We really like her but only have a 20% chance of getting her and that's if Baby Crews makes its way into the world on a weekday...I'm am learning to adapt as best I can. I will let you know if we need anything - thank you for the offer. I hope to meet you at the 4/15 meeting.
My expectation date is 6/9 but you know babies - they come when they come. I am to deliver at CMC-Pineville at their birth center. We don't have a doula but our hypnobirthing teacher is one and I've had lots of experience with Doulas. When I lived in Portland I was the lead massage therapist at a spa that specialized in pregnant and parenting families. I can't tell you how happy I am to find this group - it brings a bit of home to this new place.
I am very relieved to hear that SB 164 may die. I was shocked to discover that NC had such an ridiculous and singular view of birth. I come from a town where 10% of births are done at home with the guidance of a midwife! I will join NCFOM because women's health issues are extremely important to me and choice is essential in making good decisions.
My name is Kimberly and I'm new to the Holistic Alternatives group (and so happy to have found it). I responded to the letter that Pat received regarding SB 164 and she suggested I mention my suggestion to you. I already wrote to the authors of SB 164 but wondered if the senators representing Mecklenburg county should be included too (Senators Clodfelter, Smith Dannelly, Goodall, Graham, and Rucho) Especially, if this bill leaves the Judiciary Committee and makes it's way to a vote? What are your thoughts on this matter? Warm regards.

"Interesting. I do find info about Arnica as a poison ivy relief alternative. I hadn't heard of that. Homeopathic Apis helps for swelling, hives also.
