Hi All!
As some of you know I have a connection for All Natural, Antibiotic & Hormone Free, Locally Raised Beef.
When I saw this quality of meat at the Farmer's Market selling for as high as $13- $15/lb. for the steaks alone, I thought, there has to be a cheaper way! So I found a farmer in Rutherford Co. that has GRASS FED Locally Raised Cows that are all natural, lean, & antibiotic free! They have a butcher that gets the meat USDA inspected, packaged, frozen & kitchen ready! I have placed a couple of orders so far & everyone seems to be very happy with it. I have one friend that has finished up all of theirs & needs to place another order soon. They only need 1/4 so now we need some others to go in on this with us to get the Whole Cow price!
I have tried this beef & I can tell you personally that the taste of it is wonderful. It's the difference between a store bought tomato & a home grown one! You can really taste & see the difference! The hamburger is so lean I don't even need to drain it before I make spaghetti or tacos! And you don't have to worry about those nasty hormones & antibiotics that you will get in the meat from the reg. grocery store! The price of the meat is very reasonable for what you are getting. If we get a whole cow, the price is $4.50/lb & that includes steaks, ribs & roasts as well as hamburger & stew meat. (You MUST get a whole 1/4, or else find someone to split it with, yourself!)
If you are interested here is the information about the beef:
One–fourth, 1/4 Cow Weight 80+/- lbs. (Weight and cuts are approximate, depending on packaged weight of meat)
Consists of:
• 20 steaks (8 t-bones, 4 sirloins, 8 rib-eyes)
• 20 lbs. hamburger
• 10 lbs. stew beef
• 16 pcs. cube steak
• 5 roasts (1 shoulder, 2 chuck, 2 sirloin tips or 1 sirloin tip and 1 rump)
• 2 pkgs. ribs for BBQ
• 2 pcs. round steak
Each 1/4 can be altered slightly from this list depending on your taste. (You MUST get a whole 1/4, or else find someone to split it with, yourself!) If you don't want cube steak, you can get a London Broil or more round steaks or hamburger. If you don't want ribs & prefer Ribeyes you can do that. If you don't want T-bones but prefer Filet Mignon & New York Strips let me know. If you want the liver, you can get it added to your order.
As soon as we can get enough people to complete a whole cow we can get the cow for $4.50/lb. If you go someplace like Earthfare or Home Heath Market & price this stuff you'll be amazed at how cheap this is! The hamburger alone there costs about $5/lb.
To answer a common question - 1/4 of a cow will take up about 5 cubic feet of freezer space.Obviously this is a rough estimate depending on the size of the cow.
If you call me in the next 2 days I can have the frozen beef ready for pick up in Charlotte between Oct. 7 - 9, give or take a day! In order to claim your 1/4 we will need a deposit from you in the next week. Otherwise we won't get it until between Oct. 14 - 16th.
If you are interested please call me @ 704-819-2181 Home or 704-906-4689 Cell with any questions you may have.
We will be ordering more from time to time. So if you see this post & are interested please call me to see if we are working on placing an order.
Thanks,
Lisa
