"best "organic" mattress is 100% natural latex. We bought a king size 3" thick and put it on our euro style spring board frame. The best price I found is at foamorder.com"

mattresses for cribs

Hi everyone! I am expecting my first child in May. I am very lucky in that my parents are making the crib for us. However, I am at a loss about mattresses. I would ideally like a mattress that is "organic" and that is also supportive for a baby. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Have you used a specific type that works for you?

Profile Information

What does "holistic" mean to you?
holistic means getting back to basics. Using nature and natural items in our every day living. Holistic to means using the resources that are around you and making choices to leave the least impact on the environment.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
It has alway interested me, however, I have really tried to embrass what it means within the past year.
a little about me
I am a married, independent 29 year old. My husband and I moved to the Charlotte are 2 years ago. We fell in love with the area, the people, and the city. We purchased our home a year ago and have since been trying to embrass a "Greener" life. I travel quite a bit for work so I struggle with being green while living out of a hotel.
What professional or business affiliations do you offer?
I, unfortunately, do not have a profession or business affiliation to offer.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
