Welcome! Are you already in Charlotte? I see that in March you said you were moving down next month. It has been beautiful weather here so hope you are on your way. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about renting and…"
"I have a big veggie garden and have "edible landscaping" around too. We have a king snake near our garden but we love him :) Snakes tend to stay away from all the action.
This is a great climate for growing. Last year I put in a bunch of…"
"My husband it really the gardner in the family. He LOVES it! We have a pretty small back yard so he has done the square foot gardening. He has mixed his own soils and we have used seeds from non-GMO, organic companies (bakers creek and seed savers i…"
"Do a lot of you garden? I want to eventually have a vegetable garden, plus have a strawberry or raspberry patch. (I'm thinking about the amount of land to get with a potential house.) Don't laugh, but my biggest concern is snakes in the…"
That area in Concord is right near the speedway (Charlotte Racetrack). It is near tons of shopping and restaurants. There are also entrances to the Greenway (walking trails that go all around the city) as well as near more established…"
After my husband kept bugging me to book *something* so that we could get out of here, we booked a room at the Suburban Extended Stay on Bruton Smith Rd in Concord. (Its down the street from where my in laws have their camper. They've…"
Hi! I'm Sarah, married to Erick, and mom of Hannah (will be 5 on Saturday) and Jonah (3). We currently live in Syracuse, NY, but we need a change, so we're moving down to Charlotte/Concord next month. My brother in law and his family live in Concord, and my husband wants to live closer to them. So that's how we picked this area. Plus, the sun shines a lot more than in NY, plus taxes and the cost of living seem to be lower.I don't see myself as super crunchy, till I'm with mainstream people.…See More
Holistic to me means looking outside of the box and questioning and researching as much as we can regarding our bodies and heath. Its an ongoing process, and there's always something new to learn.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
I've been interested in holistic living for about 6 years, when I became pregnant with our daughter. I don't believe in unnecessary medical interventions in birth, so I used a natural minded hospital-based midwife. (The nearest homebirth midwives are over an hour away.) Neither of our kids are vaccinated, and our son was not circumcised.
We are raising our kids vegan. I've been vegan for 9 years (vegetarian for about 7 before that), and my husband has been vegan for about 18 years. I try to buy as much all natural/organic foods as possible, and we try to avoid things like HFCS, hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners, and artificial colors.
a little about me
I'm Sarah, married to Erick, and we have 2 kids (Hannah, almost 5 and Jonah, 3). We currently live in Syracuse, NY, but we're tired of NY and really need a change, so we're moving to the Charlotte area in early April. (Erick's brother and his family live in Concord.)
What professional or business affiliations do you offer?
My husband does IT/networking/tech support, so if anybody knows anywhere that's hiring... :)

I've dealt with a few different illnesses. Maybe you can call me tomorrow and let me know what's going on. Or maybe send your number. Pat and I are going to a conference but will have some time on the drive there and later in…"
Hope you are doing well, its been a while since I've come to the group MNOs but hope to attend soon and see folks again. This is kind of a random favor/question, but I seem to have a sick chicken and wondered if you had any expertise…"
"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
"We had two recent discussions about poison ivy relief on the yahoogroup with many options to consider. Plantain, witch hazel and Epsom salt baths seem to offer significant relief.
