Hi! I'm Sarah, married to Erick, and mom of Hannah (will be 5 on Saturday) and Jonah (3). We currently live in Syracuse, NY, but we need a change, so we're moving down to Charlotte/Concord next month. My brother in law and his family live in Concord, and my husband wants to live closer to them. So that's how we picked this area. - What does "holistic" mean to you?
- Holistic to me means looking outside of the box and questioning and researching as much as we can regarding our bodies and heath. Its an ongoing process, and there's always something new to learn.
- How long have you been interested in holistic living?
- I've been interested in holistic living for about 6 years, when I became pregnant with our daughter. I don't believe in unnecessary medical interventions in birth, so I used a natural minded hospital-based midwife. (The nearest homebirth midwives are over an hour away.) Neither of our kids are vaccinated, and our son was not circumcised.
We are raising our kids vegan. I've been vegan for 9 years (vegetarian for about 7 before that), and my husband has been vegan for about 18 years. I try to buy as much all natural/organic foods as possible, and we try to avoid things like HFCS, hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners, and artificial colors.

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch? I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
