Profile Information

What does "holistic" mean to you?
Utilizing nature's bounty to maintain our health and to appreciate the innerconnectedness of our mind, body, and emotions.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
I have been intrigued by the mind/body connection for a long time, but didn't make drastic changes to my nutrition until 8 years ago (when I got pregnant with my first child).
a little about me
i spend way too much time reading! My kids are my life, they are so much fun and I'm honored to be their mommy. I enjoy my garden, planting, writing about topics on parenting, natural living, and the environment and have recently gotten into bird watching--fascinating little creatures
What professional or business affiliations do you offer?
None really...I do own a small tee shirt business selling organic tees for babies and kids touting pro environment, i.e. pro people, slogans!

Well, don't let me scare you. This just seems like my toughest year in some ways, but that is out of 20, y'know!

I am having a crazy busy homeschool year which is one reason why I have been slow to join here. My second oldest is a senior who is not very independent in his high school work (though he does fine with dual enrolled classes so I have hope). My 12 year old loves highly structured activities like girl scouts (UGH) so I just have a year that there just aren't enough. Makes me wish I had become an unschooler years ago! I am basically unschooling my youngest - would be by default if not already by design. But Thursday is at a good time and I am looking forward to it and just wanted to see who I knew that is going. This is probably more than you wanted to know. hahaha

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
