Pat, you are so sweet to think about me. It has been a wild ride these last seven months. I feel like I am finally coming out of a fog. Miranda is 3 and half. Are there activities for her on Fridays? We are beginning to get stuff together for our hs. I am looking very heavily into unschooling, but I have serious reservations as to whether I can take myself out of the equation enough kwim?
Hi Pat,
I miss you guys too! We have been out of town and adjusting to Jim being back to work! Which is a good thing! We are out of town again next week, but plan to be at the Rec. Center on 9/25. Hope to see you there. I would love some kefir grains if you have some extra. My kombucha is doing great!
See you soon.
Joette
Hey Pat, Sean will robably work in the morning and Zach s starting soccer that morning so if you want to cancel feel free. We have a ot going on and not sure what time we would be able to make it. I didn't know about Zach's practice yet when I rsvp'ed.

What a coincidence, I am also a critical nurse and have been for 10 years. I work part-time evenings, mostly week-ends. I homeschool my 10 year old daughter.
Hi, I will be out of town next Tues and Weds nights, but hopefully we will be staying in town for a good long stretch after that...if I miss next week I would love to join you all next time...would that be 1st or 2nd week of Sept?
Megan
Hi Pat,
Good to hear from you, and no I hadn't heard of that, but will look it up. Hope to get together with folks soon, I need to look on the website and see when the next get together is. Hope to see you soon!
Megan
Hi there! We have two boys - Gabe (8 in Oct) and Riley (almost 3) and a girl - Imogen (13 months).
Not sure exactly where we'll end up in Charlotte! DH's office is uptown and we're NOT happy about what most of the commute times look like... We'll have temporary housing for up to 60 days in south charlotte (I think? steele creek or ayrsley) so we'll use that time to hopefully find someplace permanent. (Any recommendations? Our realtor recommended south charlotte but I wasn't in love with it when I was there... it's just SO different from where I live now... I'm used to more walkable areas, less isolated "communities".)
Are there good homeschooling groups in Charlotte? I homeschooled my oldest son for 2 years but ended up sending him to school this year for my sanity. Homeschooling with two kids under 2 was a little more than I could handle! I like to keep the option open for the future though... I'm not sure it's worth enrolling him for school in August if we'll be moving to a permanent house in Oct you know?
Whew that was longer than I meant it to be. Mostly I meant to say... hi!
You are officially my hero. I've been looking for an AP group for months now! Your comment on the mothering.com forum was seen by a friend of mine in Canada who was helping me search. Thank you! :D
I LOVE red wine. That's my passion. I work for Wines for Humanity. I conduct wine tastings and a portion of the proceeds go to charity.
I am working on organizing a tasting. I think the theme will be organic wine and vegetarian dishes that compliment them. My mouth is watering right now.
Dear Pat - I'm responding to the email I received about low turnout. I didn't know where to respond, so perhaps I'm responding in the wrong place, but perhaps this explains why I never show up... I find this website confusing, & I only get emails about the gatherings occasionally, & I never remember to check the website. Is it just me, am I missing something? Can you send emails to the group letting us know about the gatherings/topics/whatever? Could we possibly regroup on meetup.com? I am in a couple of meetup groups, & I get weekly emails that seem to be sent automatically & I find that easy to manage. Also, anything closer to Uptown would be a lot better for me! Just my two cents! Thanks for all your efforts! Kim
Hi Pat, I think we might find each other rather interesting. I have lots of experience with probiotics and a wonderful testimony. email me and we will get in contact sarafolk@bellsouth.net

Thank you for your comment back. When I was younger I was able to stay at a kibutz in Israel, never forgot it. Great concept. I believe that it would be impractical here.
I was blessed with phenominal parents we lost my father three years ago. He purchased the farm after retiring from the miltary and ran it as a hobby. He would sell Organic tomatoes for .50 cent a pound and you couldn't walk out the peach stand with out fruit rolling out of the basket.
I hope to get enough of a settlement so that I can go to Germany and have surgery. That will put me back in the game. I can't pursue labor intensive projects. I have heard that raw milk is in demand that would be a very easy steady income for me to hire someone full time. I could easily add eggs. With the produce profits "prayerfully" I want to build a small USDA slaughter house so that I can directmarket a private source of meat, poultry and dairy on a low scale low impact. I might be nuts but I think thats a good plan.
I would like to come to one of your meetings and get any feedback from you or your friends through this website. If you would like something specific planted that would not be a problem. Should I plant a 100 cabbages or 500. I have never grown for a family before. I have a lot to learn from you.
I am sure you know that small gardens will produce an abundance of produce, If someone wanted me to grow their own small garden I am open to ideas.
Well I need to go feed the cows. It is beautiful outside.
These are the ideas I have I hope they are to your liking.
Thanks Pat, yes I am officially on now! I hope you have a great time at MNO tonight! Mmmm Indian food! Maybe next time I will be able to make one. I have dinner going downstairs so only have a ,minute to be on but hope to meet everyone soon!

"Interesting. I do find info about Arnica as a poison ivy relief alternative. I hadn't heard of that. Homeopathic Apis helps for swelling, hives also.
Pat"
"Thanks, lots of great ideas we can try. (I am a new member on the yahoo group as of last week.) We also read some information elsewhere about treating with arnica, do you have any experience with that? DH used arnica pellets on Sunday for muscle…"
"We had two recent discussions about poison ivy relief on the yahoogroup with many options to consider. Plantain, witch hazel and Epsom salt baths seem to offer significant relief.

She was just checking the sites she frequents (she's in charge of an AP group in Alberta) to see if she could find anything I was missing.

Will there be any meetings this month?
Very Sincerely,
Sara
While I'm sad to hear about your Mom, I am glad to know that it was a positive experience for all.
I live in South Charlotte too - specifically Cotswold. Wow, that's cool that you home school. And what great photos!
As you suggested, I'll post my info in the member forum.
Looking forward to connecting and learning lots,
Penny
