My wife invited me to join so here I am. I have been focused on my health for at least ten years and am interested in learning more to be sure my wife and I providing a healthy way of life for our 2 year old daughter and our second daughter, who should be here in January. We are business owners and I am the site administrator for CharlotteAreadDads.com, as website that promotes healthy relationships between dads and their kids.
Hey, they will let just about anyone join here, huh?! Seriously, Jeff I am glad you took me up on this invitation. I know so many of the people here and they are such a great resource. I have learned so much already and I know will only learn more.

Maybe there should be a mens or dads group here to make men feel more comfortable. With so many moms forums. I know that most forums could be for anyone but maybe the men would feel comfortable having there own space also. Just a thought, who knows maybe I could then get my hubby to join??
Yes, CAD has a "Natural Living & Attachment Parenting" forum. I helped push for the forum earlier this year. All of The Mommies Network sites have the option to add that forum and I believe most, if not all, have opted to use it, especially on the mom's side.
CAD is a great place for dads to get together and support each other. There are many more resources out there for moms than there are for dads. That is why I am so involved in CAD, to help promote and grow one of the few good resources out there for dads. We have about nine other dad's sites around the country but CAD is by far the most successful.
I hesitate to bring this up but someone will eventually put two and two together so I will address it up front. There is a thread in the activism forum about the petition for a different ranking system for The Mommies Network. I would appreciate it if I am not brought into that issue. As the site administrator for CharlotteAreaDads I am a volunteer for TMN. I cannot speak on behalf of TMN but I can comment about CAD. We use stars to rank our members and have as long as I have been a member. I plan to continue using stars for the foreseeable future. Thanks for understanding my desire to stay out any further discussion on this topic.
As far as a dad's section here, that's not a bad idea. I am not sure what that would look like but will see if I can come up with some ideas.

I just suggested it because the male membership is slowly growing and I would hate for the men to feel overwelmed the the women and maybe "womaen topics". If they had a section they could go to and feel comfortable then maybe there will be more men would be interested in joining.
