OK, I am slow here. I just found your response of Oct 3...I like it when I get an email saying "you have a message" but I think I am figuring out how to see if I have other messages...anyway, yes, balloonfest is F, S, and S, but the only day we could make it was Sat, sorry we won't be there at the same time. Let me know about the HS potluck, we are in the maybe/wannabe category (although I must admit this will be a tough sell on my husband, maybe I won't tell him this is a hs thing, or maybe it will be a good intro if I can get him to consent :)

I think dish it out sounds great, I was going to suggest that to friends as an event with kids to do instead of exchanging gifts around the holidays...maybe the moms could go in advance and pick a piece, then have the kids come and all do something (finger or hand prints for the little ones, art for those kids so inclined)...so each kid/family goes home with something that all the friends helped make.

I would love to see DSBG around the holidays, we haven't seen the orchids yet and a little holiday magic sounds, well, magical :)

Other ideas...there is a Santa train at Spencer for those interested in trains and Santa...http://www.nctrans.org/events/santa_train.php.

For moms maybe we could have a cultural night out, I have a bogo card for a few organizations like the Charlotte Symphony, let me know if you want me to look into what they have (and also how many I can get free with this card). Also, I am going to forward you an open invitation for a mom's night out at the Mint.

See you Weds.
Megan
You are now absolutely in charge of planning fun events. :-D Those all sound fabulous!! Your schedule may be tighter than most, so select dates that work for you. I'm glad to post them to the Events calendar or you are welcome to do so.

Don't tell dh it is homeschoolers, not everyone will be, maybe. ;-) So, he'll just meet a bunch of folks and about everyone will homeschool. That way it becomes "normal" and "everyone is doing it". LOL Seriously, it is the E&D gathering and many are not registered homeschoolers in NC. (you don't have to register until age 7)

And anyone is invited to plan other fun gatherings too!!

Btw, you can request the site notify you of new messages by selecting "Forum" and "Notify", then you are notified of new posts. Or on individual threads, you can select "Follow" at the bottom of the page.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
