Hey
I was wondering if anyone could make a good recommendation for eczema - Harry has it pretty bad right now. Here's what I've done so far:

cut out all dairy
olive oil
coconut oil
shea butter
cocoa butter
oatmeal bath (just put oatmeal in a tied cloth)

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated! The back of his knees is breaking my mommy heart!

Calendula cream and lavender essential oil help topically. You can add lavender to the bath.

But, it is probably the dairy. It takes about 2-6 weeks to clear all casein proteins from the body. Here is a list of hidden dairy: http://www.kellymom.com/store/handouts/concerns/hidden-dairy.pdf

Soy protein is very similar and highly associated with dairy intolerance. Avoiding soy is like trying to avoid sunlight though. It is e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.

Probiotics help to recolonize the gut so that the skin is not erupting with inflammation. The gut is 70-80% of the immune system. So, increasing bone broths, coconut oil, cod liver oil and whole food probiotics, especially Bifidus infantis and Lactobacillus acidophilus and Saccharomyces boulardii. The bifidus is usually a powder. Acidophilus is in yogurt. Goat's milk yogurt is more easily digested due to less allergenic proteins and because it is cultured. It has prebiotics and enzymes which help too. S. boulardii is in store bought kombucha, maybe a few yogurts.

Classical homeopath helped dh's eczema.

My chiro. recommend Colliodial Silver gel (at Earth Fare) for his ezecma on his hands. He's trying it out. Also, he has had some luck with Cerave cream (not the lotion). He bought it a Walgreens in Fort Mill. It took the ezema off his palms and onto his fingers. But it still painful. Cerave does contain petroleum, but it helps some.

Hope you find something that helps.
One of the lotions that worked wonders for my little one was Calendula Lotion by California Baby...

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
