The monthly holistic meeting is this Wednesday, Oct. 15th, 7:30pm at EarthFare-Ballantyne. Everyone is welcome.
There is a holistic presentation each month, followed by Q&A and socializing. It is informal, no fees, just join us if you are interested in nurturing connections with more holistic moms. Children are welcome.
We are also hosting a family potluck gathering on Saturday, Oct. 25th. Check "Events" for details.
Pat! I am going to try my best to get over to Earth Fare on Wednesday. My Darling Husband is involved with something right next door at Ballantyne and being a Proverbs 31 wife (trying anyway :)), I am helping him! That may be my only reason not to show up! I REALLY want to meet everyone face to face! Huggedly, Dianne

Wow! This was an informative and connecting gathering. We had so many birth stories, and sharing the journey from medicalized births to empowered births was amazing.
There was a doula who teaches Bradley birthing classes and she had a planned homebirth, turned unassisted birth with a short labor. There was a direct entry homebirth midwife who helped us process a lot of birth perspectives. The postpartum doula (and vacation nanny) was informative about creating an organized postpartum home environment. Her ideas were fascinating about helping to empower the family to participate, especially grandparents, so that the mama could rest and be with baby. The hypnobirthing and hypnobabies advocates were serene models of peaceful centeredness. We had moms from c-section to unassisted birthing experiences. It was fascinating to hear all of their stories.
We hope to have another "Birth Awareness" gathering at least yearly. It was so interesting, since any birth story evolves as we learn from the experience and incorporate our new awareness. I loved meeting so many empowered women!
I hadn't visited the Charlotte Doulas' web site before. It is so full of information for nurturing a gentle birth! Check it out and share the link to any pregnant friends! http://www.charlottedoulas.org/
There is a "Birth Circle" gathering next weekend. Check the "Events" for details.
Below are the birth presenters and their contact information. Most are members here. I hope they will join us for other gatherings too!
It sounds like a great meeting! I am sorry I missed it...my husband had work stuff and could not watch the kids. I love to hear birth stories. That sounds great to do a meeting like that at least annually.
