Families practicing: Alternative & Natural Health; Attachment and Mindful Parent

I am interested in finding a local group in and/or around the charlotte area where I can buy food items through. We are interested in maybe buying some grains and other items. I know of the group up in Asheville, Natural Food Choices, but that's really too far to drive. I didn't know if anyone has gotten a group together in Charlotte. Any information that you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

I belong to a produce co-op. Christina heads it up. Maybe she can give you more info. So far for my bulk items, i have been going to Earth Fare or Home Economist.

Thanks for the info. We grow our own vegetables so I'm not so much interested in vegetables as much as grains and dairy. We go to Fort Mill every other week for milk and cream. And we also go to the Home Economist or Earth Fare for anything else we may need. I'd love to have access to some fresh grains. I know there is a co-op for Breadbeckers.com around here somewhere. I've got the email sent to get the info for it but haven't gotten any info back yet. I would love to have a co-op around here that deals with grains, raw milk cheese, and WAP friendly items such as a kombucha scoby.

Thanks again,
Marnita
There is a yahoo group called green ops. The lady who runs it is in indian trail. She runs several co ops and has a local "frontier" co op monthly. Frontier has a ton of stuff. You pick it up from her home. Frontier products are at stores like Home Economist. I think they have grains. I know they have teas and spices, bath stuff, cleaning stuff etc.
Thank you so much! This really helps.

Where do you go in Fort Mill for your cream and milk? I am close to there, but am still exploring the options out here.

I buy my stuff from Milky Way Farm. They have a drop off in Fort Mill in the parking lot of the Narroway theater. I think their website is www.scmilkywayfarm.com. Take a look at the website and if you are interested, call or email them before this Monday at noon with your order. Let them know that you are a new customer and they will add your email address to thei list. They send out a reminder a couple days ahead of time reminding you to send in your order by Monday at noon. We go pick up every other Wednesday at 2:45pm. The milk is $6 per gallon and the cream is $10 per 1/2 gallon. Hope this helps.

Poison Ivy

Does anyone have suggestions for relieving poison ivy itch?  I'm new to holistic treatments, and hubby has a small case of what he thinks is poison ivy or oak on face and hands.
