I'm trying to get a link to the source document. But, this is astounding. I'm shocked that I was able to birth vaginally at Presby.
Thanks for taking the time to post this! All I can say is ..WOW!
I'm lucky to have had 2 vaginal births at Presby Matthews but I'm really looking into a home-birth for *WHEN* we decide to have child #3. 3rd times a charm is what they say, right?! ;)
I wish I could have a homebirth but can't afford it. I will be having this baby at Gaston Memorial with a midwife. Alex was with a midwife also. They don't see any reason I should have any problems seeing that all mine were vaginal. I never had problems. Although I really know how my labor goes by now so they are going to have a hard time dealing with me. I know exactly how I want things to be and I won't deal with anyone telling me other wise. I don't know what the stats are for Gaston Mem. but I have already recieved a birthplan paper to fill out for the nurses and midwife and they seem really interested in the way I want things to be. We will see. They will love me I'm sure. I will probably end up labeled the difficult patient no one wants to deal with by the end of my stay.
Jenn--- Do you already have your midwife? If not, I believe the midwife I used last year has moved from her practice in Huntersville (with Dr. Peacock) to somewhere around Gaston Memorial. She was INCREDIBLE. Her name is Marcia Chiluck. She made my birth at Huntersville Presby the closest thing to a homebirth that you could have (and it was a VBAC to boot). I also have the most detailed birth plan that I will happily share with you--- I don't know how to link to this, though.
